Real-Life Skills - No Classroom Required
Broward Virtual School is now accepting applications for full-time enrollment for the 2023-24 school year.
Florida Statute 1002.45 requires school districts to offer virtual instruction programs to students in grades K - 12. BCPS wants to remind families about Broward Virtual School, a pioneer in providing virtual instruction since 2001.
The world-renown Broward Virtual School (BVS) provides students individualized, rigorous and engaging instruction through an innovative e-learning format. BVS has offered distance learning options for over twenty years, providing free public education from home and other remote locations using online learning technology.
- BVS was the first public school in the U.S. to award a high school diploma earned entirely online.
- BVS remains one of the top distance learning institutions in the U.S. and consistently ranks among the top 10% of public schools in Florida.
BVS is now accepting applications for full-time enrollment for the 2023-24 school year.
Current and prospective K-12 full-time students – as well as homeschooled students - can submit applications as follows:
- Grades K-5: For elementary grades, applications are accepted through July 21, 2023 and can be found at K-5 Application. The deadline for elementary grade applications is firm and cannot be extended.
- Grades 6-12: Students enrolling in grades 6 through 12 can complete an application here: Middle and High School Application.
Is Broward Virtual School Accredited?
Yes. Along with all Broward County Public Schools, BVS is fully accredited by AdvancED.
Broward Virtual School is also registered with the Florida State Department of Education and a part of the Broward County Public School system. The accredited online high school diploma and all credits earned at BVS are accepted by other 6-12 schools, colleges, universities, the military and employers.
How Do You Enroll?
Enrollment in the full-time program takes place before the first and second semesters of the school year (for students in grades 6-12). Students/parents should complete the prospective full-time student application online during the application window. Applications must be completed in full.
